Fine classical bronze sculpture of Horace, the great Roman poet clothed in toga and wearing the poet’s laurel crown, seated on a Curule chair with pen and scroll on which is written a statement in French which roughly translates:”Led happy pastoral art, which with their own hands our forefathers cultivated their fields in peace and saw freedom in their affairs. Demosthenes lived in ancient Athens and is also known for a revolt against Alexander the Great which ultimately failed. Based on a Roman copy of the original Greek statue. Italian, marked A.
