19th Century Giant Bronze Statue of the Flying Mercury after Giovanni da Bologna

Standing almost 44 inches tall and raised on a circular molded base Mercury (or Greek: Hermes) stands balancing on an allegory of the North Wind in a powerful pose holding the ‘caduceus’ in his left hand. The statue is modeled after the original by Giovanni da Bologna (Jean Bologne) (1529-1608).
