Bengt Carlberg studied in Stockholm, Amsterdam and Paris. He exhibited widely in his native country and drawings by him regular appeared in the Swedish newspapers. He became especially known for his circus motifs often involving clowns and acrobats. In his biography the focus in on the poetic and atmospheric qualities of his works. Bengt Carlberg is represented in the Art Museum of Umeaa in Sweden. Davenport’s report an auction record for this artist at $ 3,792 paid for a 10” x 8” watercolor at Bukowski’s Auctions in Stockholm in 2004.
