Italian 19th Century Bronze Statue of Antinous with Goatskin after the Antique

Standing 24 inches tall this statue depicts Antinous who was a close friend or lover og emperor Hadrian. After his untimely death Hadrian deified him. Standing in the nude on a circular base he is wearing a goatskin water container over his left shoulder. The figure has great detail and an overall verdigris patina and rustic surface reminiscent of an excavated version.
